Moonbeam's Public Realms Go Live Tonight!

Hey everyone, it’s me, Anthony! I want to talk about "Public Realms," which are going live tonight!

In Alpha and Closed Beta, we noticed that Moonbeam lacked a public town square. We’ve decided to fix this by implementing obvious community hubs where anyone and everyone can stream, chat, post, and hang out. Unlike existing Realms, anyone on Moonbeam can stream, chat, or post within a Public Realm. No roles required!

As we consider Open Beta going live next week, we must ensure that streamers joining Moonbeam can stream immediately. Public Realms serve as a central location for fun and engaging communication that can also help Realm Owners check out and invite steamers to live stream into their Realm!

Introducing our first three Public Realms: the Video Game Alliance, Tabletop Guild, and the Chatter Corps.

Video Game Alliance (VGA)

The leader of the Video Game Alliance is a mysterious figure known as Oscill. From time to time, Oscill will roam the digital halls of the Video Game Alliance (VGA), seeking new allies. If you join the VGA, Oscill may offer you a badge once you’ve proven to be an ally to their cause.

Tabletop Guild

Since the dawn of time, the Stream Master has waited patiently for a new live streaming platform to arise from the ashes of necessity. He now seeks heroes from across the many Realms to come together and show the world the greatness of tabletop gaming! Adventurers, beware: this quest is long and arduous, but those who rise to the challenge shall be inducted as full-fledged members of the Tabletop Guild.

Chatter Corps

After witnessing social media's demise, Lunari bravely broadcast her call to arms and rebellion, igniting the movement that spurred the Moonbeam Revolution. Lunari seeks rebels to join the Chatter Corps and bring joy back to online discussions and streaming. As a subset of the Moonbeam Revolution, the Chatter Corps seeks new friends interested in just chatting as they redefine social connection in this new era.

Onward to Open Beta

Over the next few days you’ll see Clips (yes, that’s right, Clips!) roll out as we prepare for Monday’s launch of Open Beta. There is a LOT of work to do over the coming days and Moonbeam will continue to evolve based on your feedback.

Our goal is for these Public Realms to serve as a starting place for folks and act as a means for them to discover new Realms.
